Greeter and Membership Volunteer The WSY is looking for an energetic, personable individual who is willing to volunteer their time to the West Suburban YMCA, a non-profit organization, to learn more about the importance of customer service through professionalism, patience and a ‘people-first’ attitude. This position has a varied list of tasks that can change from shift to shift. Characteristics of the volunteer include: friendly attitude, clear communication, respectful, compassionate, welcoming and willingness to learn. Tasks include: -Greeting members with a smile and by name (name is on computer screen when card is scanned) as they enter building (“Have a great workout!”) -Goodbye to members as they are leaving the facility (“Have a great day!” or “See you tomorrow/soon!” ) -Learning the computer system by the turnstile to be able to look up members if they forget their ID cards -Making phone calls to members from call list to wish them a Happy Birthday (list and script will be provided) -Filing of paperwork into member’s folders -Making copies of forms behind front desk when needed -Walking members to destination point in the facility instead of giving directions (“come with me, I will walk you to the gym/pool/locker rooms, etc.) -Shadowing Member Services Representative to learn about the job behind the Front Desk -Occasional wiping down of desk surfaces, phones, turnstile, lobby chairs, etc. to adhere to our health and safety protocols -Other tasks/projects that could come up from week to week Starts Thursday, October 16th
